Description

27, 29, and 31 George Hudson Street are three houses with shops, built around 1860, with later alterations to the shopfronts. The buildings are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and feature a timber eaves cornice supported by shaped brackets, with brick stacks rising from a slate roof.

The exterior presents a three-storey façade with six windows. The shopfronts include plain pilasters with shaped imposts, and a fascia and cornice positioned between shaped corbels; the shop windows and doors have been altered to include plate glass. On the upper floors, all windows are 12-pane sashes set within cambered brick arches, with painted stone sills. At the rear, there are 12-pane sash windows and two small-pane staircase sash windows. The interior has not been inspected.
