Description
The Harbour Inn is a public house located on Commercial Road in Porthleven, dating from the early 19th century, with a later extension from the 19th century. The building is constructed of granite ashlar with a plinth on the left made of rubble and granite dressings, and a granite plinth on the right. It features a dry slate roof and has a double-depth plan with deep rear wings, standing two storeys high and comprising an overall six-window range. The windows are small openings, except for an oriel window that is approximately central to each part, all fitted with 20th-century horned sashes. There are three round-arched doorways: one right of centre on the ashlar front, which has an original spoked fanlight and a four-panel door; another towards the right of the other front with a blind fanlight and a four-panel door; and a third doorway leading to a single-storey wing at the far left. The ground floor of part of the ashlar front has been altered at some point, replacing what was likely an inserted doorway with a small window. Inside, the inn retains original moulded ceiling joists.
