Description

The Unicorn Public House is a house dating from the early 19th century. It features an end chimney on the left and a lateral stack at the right rear. The front eaves were raised in the early 19th century, and the doorway has been moved to the extreme right of the front elevation. The building is three storeys high with three windows and is constructed of rubble masonry. It has a gently pitched quarry slate roof at the front, while the rear has a steeper original pitch but is covered with modern slates. The eaves are plain with close verges, and there is a tall square stack on the left with water tabling.

The front elevation has three Victorian sash windows on each floor, all with stone lintels. The central window on the ground floor was formerly a doorway, while the current doorway is located at the extreme right, featuring a dripboard over a plain doorcase and a modern door. The rear elevation has a lateral stack on the left, a slated gablet, and another tall square stack with water tabling. There is a hipped dormer on the right with rubble cheeks and a Victorian sash window. The ground floor has various modern additions.

Inside, there are transverse ceiling beams, with those flanking the original entrance passage to the centre being stop-chamfered.
