Description
The Unicorn Hotel Public House is a building with a four-window painted brick front and a plinth, dating from the 19th century. It features a slate roof with boarded eaves and a brick chimney stack on the left side. The building has nine and twelve-pane sash windows, which include voussoirs and cills, with one first-floor window having relatively broad glazing bars. A hotel sign is located between the first and second floors on the left.
The main entrance is centrally positioned at No. 4, featuring a broad classical doorcase and a four-panel door. No. 5 has a Victorian shopfront that includes fascia ends, a dentil cornice, and twinned round arches above the window heads supported by colonnettes. There is a central splayed entrance with a narrow frosted glass door. To the right, a cambered carriage arch leads to a gated through passage, with a brick wall on the left and a rubble wall on the right. The rear of the building is constructed of rubble and has modern glazing.
