Description
Roberts, Humphrey & Bott, Joseph Davies & Son is a late Georgian building featuring three stories and a basement. The structure has roughcast elevations facing Alfred Place and a two-window front on Portland Street, with rubble chimney stacks. The entrance on Alfred Place is marked by a fluted pilastered doorcase that includes an entablature frieze and cornice, leading to a six-panel door and fanlight. To the left of the entrance, there are brace plates at the join with a two-window cross range, which mainly contains small pane sash windows, including an 18-pane staircase window above a cambered-headed entrance. The Portland Street front showcases three-storey bay windows with sash windows that lack glazing bars, except for those in the basement. The rear of the building is constructed of rubble with brick dressings.
