Description
Rainbow Cottage, which includes a shop on the right, is likely from the early to mid 19th century. It is a two-storey building constructed of painted rubble stone with a slate roof and rubble end stacks that have oversailing courses. The central front door features flush panels and a small overlight beneath a cambered head. The windows are arranged regularly, each with flat voussoir heads, and consist of two or three-light iron casements set in chamfered timber frames, complete with original catches and stays. At the rear, there is a brick extension with a pitched roof that was added in 1951.
Adjoining to the right is a former bakery, now a hairdresser's. This building is one-and-a-half storeys tall, made of painted rubble with a slate roof, and has a wide cambered roof over a glazed door and shop window.
