Description

The premises of Wright's Radio and Roberts & Quinn, including number 43, is a four-storey, eight-bay flannel factory located on Commercial Street in Penygloddfa, Newtown. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a gently pitched slate roof with a saw-toothed eaves cornice. There are brick end stacks on the original block, along with modern asbestos vents and a dormer situated above a gantry doorway. Each floor has three-light casement windows with cambered header arches, although many are largely boarded over. Doorways are present at the fourth and first floor levels on the front, which are modern. The right end wall originally had a tier of doors that are now blocked and flanked by windows.

On the ground floor, there are two plank doors with heavy frames and cambered header arches. A later 19th-century shop has been inserted in the right corner, featuring double doors that are half-glazed, along with a simple three-light window to the right. Additionally, a further window has been fitted to a former doorway in the end wall.
