Description

9 and 10 Chapel Street in Penygloddfa, Newtown, are a pair of three-storey terraced houses built in Flemish bond brick. They feature a gently pitched slate roof with a lead ridge, a central brick chimney stack, and slate flues. The houses have deep verges and barge boards, with deep boarded eaves visible only at the front. The second floor has eight-pane hopper windows located beneath the eaves, while the first and ground floors have 19-pane sash windows. These windows are adorned with slightly cambered gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. At the rear, there are three-light casements with cambered header arches. The doorways, which are accessed by stone steps, retain their original heavy frames.
