Description
9 and 10 Chapel Street in Penygloddfa, Newtown, is a pair of three-storey terraced houses built in Flemish bond brick. They feature a gently pitched slate roof with a lead ridge and a central brick chimney stack with slate flues. The houses have deep verges and barge boards, along with deep boarded eaves that are only present at the front. The second floor has eight-pane hopper windows positioned below the eaves, while the first and ground floors contain 19-pane sash windows. These windows are adorned with slightly cambered gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. At the rear, there are three-light casement windows with cambered header arches. The doorways, which are accessed by stone steps, retain their original heavy frames.
