Description
The building is a former shop located at the premises of Wright's Radio and Roberts & Quinn, including number 43, on Commercial Street in Penygloddfa, Newtown. It is a four-storey, eight-bay flannel factory with an additional bay added to the left. The structure is built of brick in Flemish bond and features a gently pitched slate roof with a saw-toothed eaves cornice. There are brick end stacks on the original block, along with modern asbestos vents and a dormer above the gantry doorway. Each floor has three-light casement windows with cambered header arches, although many are largely boarded over. The building has doorways at the fourth and first floor levels on the front, which are modern. A former tier of doors, now blocked, is flanked by windows on the right end wall.
On the ground floor, there are two plank doors with heavy frames and cambered header arches. A later 19th-century shop has been inserted in the right corner, featuring double doors that are half-glazed, with a simple three-light window to the right. Additionally, a further window has been fitted to a former doorway in the end wall.
