Description

Bryn is a mid-19th century house, possibly a refacing of an earlier structure. It has two storeys, constructed from coursed rubble with a stone slate roof that is half-hipped to the right. There is a tall brick chimney stack at the left end and a rear lateral stack. At the right-hand end, there is a brick and slate lean-to that serves as a wash-house. The windows are arranged in an orderly fashion, with ground-floor openings featuring cambered voussoir heads, all chamfered, and transomed frames with iron-bar glazing and a central opening casement. The first-floor windows are three-light iron casements with chamfered frames. The front door is panelled and is sheltered by a hipped slated porch canopy supported by chamfered posts.

The outbuildings consist of an L-plan range located 25 meters north of the farmhouse, which includes a four-bay barn and a lofted cowhouse. These structures have high rubble base walls and upper sections made of stud framework with weatherboarding, topped with slate and corrugated iron roofs. They are contemporary with the farmhouse.

The interior features a single-pile plan with central stairs positioned between the parlour and kitchen. The end bay contains back-stairs and a dairy with two salting slabs. The kitchen and dairy areas have scroll-stopped beams, while the parlour features a straight-cut stopped beam. The floors are made of flagstone, and the doors are boarded with strap hinges.
