Description
Yew Tree Cottage is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone, which has been overpainted on the front. The cottage features a three-course platt band and flat voussoir lintels above all openings. The roof is made of slate, and there is a brick stack at one end. At the rear, there is a single-storey gabled wing made of rubble and slate, which was previously used as a scullery. The original front doorway has been infilled with brickwork and replaced by a large modern window. There are also two 19th-century three-light iron casements set in chamfered timber frames. A central blind panel is shared with the adjacent property, No 9.
Inside, the cottage has chamfered ceiling beams with straight-cut stops. There is an open fireplace with raked rubble jambs and a timber lintel, along with boarded doors that have strap hinges.
