Description
8 Broad Street is a building from the early to mid 19th century, connected to No 7. It has two storeys and a rear lean-to with a catslide roof. The exterior is made of rubble stone with a plinth, which has been overpainted. The front features a slate roof, while the rear has an iron roof and a large rendered stack on the left end. The ground floor has openings with cambered voussoir heads, including a central boarded door and small-paned casement windows.
Inside, there is a large open fireplace with a rough wooden lintel and an adjoining bread oven. The floor is stone flagged, and there is a chamfered beam. The doors are boarded with strap hinges on gudgeon pins. On the first floor, the walls are exposed stud with a pegged king post truss.
