Description

This building, known as J.E. Morgan, is a three-storey structure with a two-window Georgian red brick front that is not bonded with the adjoining building. It features a pitched slate roof with an end stack. The windows are double-hung sash and case types with glazing bars, and there is rubbed brickwork above the window heads with plain reveals. The overall shop front, dating from the 19th century, includes a dentil cornice, modillion brackets, and lion masks above the end pilasters, along with slender colonnettes framing the glazing and central doors. To the right, there is a round-arched doorway with panelled reveals, an arched fanlight, and a six-panel door. Additionally, there is a second three-storey range made of slate and whitewashed brick that runs parallel to the street block.
