Description

J.V. Morgan & Son is a three-storey building with a cellar, originally incorporating a butcher's shop. It features coursed rubble masonry and a moderately pitched quarry slate roof with deep eaves and exposed purlins. The building has stone stacks and water tabling.

On the second floor, there are shallow eight-pane sash windows set under the eaves. The first-floor sash windows have had their glazing bars removed and are topped with stone lintels. A similar window is found on the right gable end. The ground floor on the left has a modern window, with a cellar opening below it.

The central doorway has deep reveals and a modern door. A late Victorian shopfront wraps around the right corner, featuring a segmental fascia that ends on a reeded console and a pilaster to the left. There is a deep fascia board and a broad sash window at the front. The corner entry includes a rectangular fanlight above a half-glazed door. A modern window is present on the right end elevation, with brick stall risers that have decorative cast iron vent grilles.
