Description
The premises of Raynor Opticians is a two and a half storey building dating from the late 19th century, featuring two windows. It is constructed of coursed rubble masonry and has a moderately pitched slate roof with plain eaves and close verges. The building includes stone stacks and water tabling.
At the top storey, there are gabled stone dormers with moulded bargeboards. The Victorian sash windows have stone lintels and sills, and similar windows are present on the first floor. The ground floor showcases a late 19th-century shopfront with pedimented fascia ends and Tuscan pilasters, along with a deep modern fascia. The central entrance is recessed and features a half-glazed door. The shop windows are accented by slender turned rods at the corners and modern stallrisers.
To the left, there is a domestic doorway with a deep rectangular fanlight that has diamond and marginal glazing bars. The door is a six-panel design, with the upper panels being glazed, and is topped by a stone lintel.
