Description
Francesca, Studio One is a three-storey building featuring a canted corner entrance, constructed from snecked rubble masonry. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, with oversailing eaves and a stone stack.
On the second floor, there are two Victorian sash windows set under the eaves facing Bridge Street. The first floor has two rectangular oriel windows, each with hipped slate roofs, corniced tops, and vertically paned Victorian sashes. The canted corner features a Victorian sash window with a stone lintel.
The ground floor boasts a good contemporary shopfront, which includes a continuous dentil cornice that is advanced to form brackets under the oriels. The shopfront has a plain fascia with sympathetic modern lettering, and reeded pilasters with console brackets flanking all openings. To the extreme left, there is a doorway with a deep rectangular fanlight and a panelled door. A former doorway in the centre has been converted into a window, but the rectangular fanlight has been retained. There are two light shop windows on either side of the oriels, with rubble stallrisers.
Additionally, there is a doorway at the canted corner with tongue and groove boarded reveals and a modern door. The shopfront extends to Heol y Dwr, featuring a single light shop window and similar pilasters. There is also a Victorian sash window under the eaves on the second floor and two deeper, similar windows on the first floor.
