Description
Cae-Mawr is a two-storey building with a basement, featuring a rendered exterior, a brick plinth, and raised quoins. It has a hipped slate roof with boxed eaves and includes a glass-roofed verandah supported by iron trellis on two sides. The north side has a central part-glazed door framed by a pilastered architrave. The ground floor has drop cill sashes, while the first floor features wide sixteen-pane sashes. At the south-east end, there is a modern conservatory designed in a Victorian style.
The building retains many original details, such as pilaster door surrounds with roundel corner blocks, six-panel doors, a panelled hall arch, panelled shutters, and ceiling cornices. The staircase includes a scroll newel, a curtail step, bracket tread ends, and a ramped handrail. An opening has been created between two former rooms on the east side, framed by Ionic columns.
