Description
The Old Vicarage is a two-storey building in the Regency style, featuring rendered rubble walling with black quoins. It has a hipped slate roof with deep eaves and tall stone stacks at both ends and one at the rear, all of which project slightly. The first floor has twelve-pane sash windows, while the ground floor includes French windows. The main entrance is located on the east side, consisting of a half-glazed panel door with a sixteen-pane sash window above it.
To the north, there are two additional ranges that have gable ends facing the street, one of which features a two-storey canted bay set within a recessed section of the wall, topped with a cambered voussoir arch.
Inside, the property boasts good quality period details, including a staircase with a scroll newel, bracket-shaped tread ends, and a ramped handrail. Other notable features include a hall archway, panelled shutters, ceiling cornices, fluted doorcases with Tudor Rose corner blocks, and several cast iron fire grates. The principal doors are four-panel designs that imitate double doors. The large cellar has a cobbled floor and is divided into three areas, with the wine cellar containing brick shelving.
