Description
The barn range north of Clyro Court Farmhouse is a Grade II* listed building. It features a two-storey front facing the farmyard, which is now covered by a modern open shed. The ground floor is constructed of stone, while the upper level is timber-framed. The building has a slate roof over a largely renewed trussed roof that includes pegged tie-beams, overlapping purlins, and a pair of cruck blades with their tops removed against the inner side of the north gable. The south gable has been rebuilt with weatherboarding.
The yard front is notable for its two pointed and chamfered arches surrounded by dressed stonework, which may have been reset. There are two additional doors with timber lintels and three wood-framed ground-floor windows that were formerly fitted with wooden bars. A small rectangular opening is present in the much-patched north gable. The road frontage has been rebuilt in 19th-century brick over rubble stonework and features twin picturesque stepped gablets with diamond vents above camber-headed pitching doors.
