Description
The barn at Court Farm is a Grade II listed structure made of squared sandstone rubble and topped with a corrugated sheet metal roof. It consists of two sections, with the larger part located to the south. The east side is largely obscured by two large modern lean-tos. The south gable features two slit vents, along with another vent in the gable above. At the north end, there is a 4-centred arched stone entrance, likely dating from the late 16th century or around 1600. Next to this entrance is a 2-light window with a reserved chamfer. To the right, there is a small 19th-century stable and granary, also with a corrugated sheet roof. The rear elevation of the main barn was not visible during the resurvey.
Inside, the barn's interior is somewhat difficult to view, but it includes a queen strut roof with two tiers of purlins and rafters at the south end, with at least three trusses remaining. The north end of the roof, which was damaged by a bomb, features machined king post trusses with iron straps that were added around 1943.
