Description

Rock Cottage is a small, two-storey brick cottage dating from the 18th century. It has a whitewashed brick exterior, covered by a slate roof and features a brick gable stack on the south side; a north gable stack may have been present earlier. A decorative, saw-tooth dentilled course runs along the top of the brickwork. A small lean-to is attached to the north end. The front of the cottage has a two-window arrangement. The upper-floor windows are multi-pane casements reaching the eaves, while the lower-floor windows consist of matching casements set within segmental brick arches, with one casement having been replaced. To the left of each window is a planked door, also set within a segmental brick arch. A panelled door leads into the lean-to, and is sheltered by a timber lintel. The interior was not accessible for inspection.
