Description
The East Barn at Llwynmadoc is a 19th-century structure built of random rubble masonry and topped with a corrugated iron roof. The south gable end features three tall blind lancet windows made of red brick, which include horizontal banding and breathers. Above these, there is an owl hole, and below, a former window with a segmental brick head has been replaced by another window. On the west elevation, there are several window openings under segmental brick heads, but these are now boarded over. Originally, there were three openings on the lower storey; the central one has been blocked and replaced with a wide entrance framed in red brick. Above this, a large area has been replaced with red brick, likely during the mid-19th century, containing three openings similar to those below, along with three smaller openings that rise to the eaves. A square opening, also blocked in red brick, indicates that there were once hatch openings leading to a loft, similar to those found on the west barn. Additionally, there is a timber lean-to extension extending towards the west. Access to the interior was not available at the time of inspection.
