Description

Stuart Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage located on Great Alne Park Lane. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a brick dentil cornice. The roof is slate, and there are brick stacks at both ends. The cottage has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window range. The central entrance consists of a plank door set within a moulded wood surround. There is a porch supported by two thin wooden shafts and topped with a flat hood. The windows are leaded-light casements, with the original ones on the first floor. The ground floor windows are positioned under brick segmental arches, and there is a central window with a Gothick arch and Y-tracery. The interior has not been inspected.
