Description

The Lodge is a house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century. It features whitewashed brick with a brick string course and has deep eaves with a moulded wood cornice and paired modillions. The roof is slate with brick end stacks. The building has a central staircase plan and is designed in the Gothick style, standing two storeys high with an attic and a symmetrical front with three windows.

The central entrance has a 4-centred arched Gothick half-glazed door, which is framed by a panelled intrados and a moulded wood architrave. There is a Gothick trellis porch. The windows are 4-centred arched casements with three arched lights, featuring brick arches and gauged brick cambered relieving arches. The first floor has straight-headed casements with Gothick glazing bars and gauged brick cambered arches with keystones, including a central two-light window.

The return sides of the building have gables designed as open pediments, with attic casements featuring two arched leaded lights. The left return side has a single arched window on the ground floor, while a further two-storey, two-window wing has a brick dentil cornice, French windows, and casements with glazing bars under segmental arches. The right return side has a two-light ground floor window, and there is an additional one-storey and attic two-window wing with dormers that have arched casements of two arched lights. At the rear, there is a central two-light wood mullioned staircase window with two transoms and a door with a moulded wood doorcase. The interior has not been inspected.
