Description
The Priory is a house built in the Gothick style, dated 1832. It is constructed of red brick with rusticated ashlar quoins and moulded brick dressings. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features moulded brick parapet gables. The building has projecting brick stepped gable-end stacks with twin diagonal shafts, and the southern stack retains a stone string course and caps. The house has an H-shaped plan with a central range that runs parallel to the street.
The exterior is two storeys high. The street front displays three parapet gables, with the centre gable being slightly recessed. Each bay features a mullioned and transomed casement window with stepped dripmoulds. Above the door, there is a small lancet window with a dripmould. A projecting ashlar porch includes a 4-centred archway and a gable with a shield-shaped datestone. On the south side, there is a central stack flanked by first-floor lancets with dripmoulds, and at ground level, there are blind recessed windows, with the one on the right replaced by a 20th-century casement window. The rear of the building has 20th-century windows. The interior has not been inspected.
