Description
The fountain in the south garden at Dolforgen Hall is an 18th-century feature, likely dating from around 1790. It has a basin shaped like an 8-point square-within-square, which is set approximately 0.5 meters below the surrounding garden level. At the center of the basin stands a slender pedestal fountain, which includes a fluted vase positioned over a ball and ring. The upper section of the fountain is a fluted inverted bell that serves as a platform for a cast iron urn that contains the spout. This fountain is closely related to the attractive southern elevation of the hall.
