Description
Dolforgan Lodge (West) is a single-storey building with an attic, constructed in painted brick and topped with a slate roof. It dates from the 19th century and features a symmetrical design with three bays, where the central bay is set forward over the entrance and has a gabled roof. The door is located within a raised half-brick frame and is boarded, showcasing a 'Y'-traceried pattern in a two-light configuration. Above the door is a multi-paned window with a pointed head and painted intersecting glazing bars. The windows on either side of the door have been replaced with plastic but originally featured similar blind window heads with intersecting tracery, all set in raised brick frames. The east return elevation also has three similar windows. A central brick stack with offsets is present.
Attached to the west side of the lodge is an ashlar stone screen. The upper section of this screen is arcaded and has a moulded coping, ending in a monolithic stone gate pier with a moulded capping. This pier supports a braced timber gate, which also features an arcaded upper section.
