Description

No 1, Old School House is a three-storey building constructed of colourwashed brick with a slate roof. It features three bays, with the central bay extended by an additional bay wing at the rear. The entrance is asymmetrical to the central bay and consists of a six-panelled door set in a recessed round-headed brick opening. Each floor has four-pane sash windows in each bay, with the second-floor windows being shorter and matching blind window recesses in between. The central bay has a square bay window from around 1920 that replaces the original central window. The building has brick dentilled eaves and a brick stack on the west gable and opposite the entrance. The rear wing includes an added extension on the west side, which features an iron hall window. The west gable end is hung with slate. The interior was not accessible during the inspection in January 1996.
