Description
The Coachhouse at Dolforgan Hall is a Grade II listed building, constructed from rubble stone with slate roofs and raised gables, likely built in the early to mid-19th century, as it does not appear on the Inclosure Map of 1807. It was built for the father of Lord Long. The south front is symmetrical, featuring two gabled bays that project forward, with one bay in between. There are single-storey outer wings on either side containing the carriage houses, each with three-centred arched openings made of ashlar stonework. The projecting bays have stone copings that rise from kneelers and similar arched openings on the ground floor, one of which is blocked, while the other has been replaced. The upper floor features 20th-century windows within the original openings. A stack is symmetrically placed on the rear slope. The carriage houses still have their original boarded doors. The central block, which likely originally included a groom's dwelling, is now a separate dwelling and has an open lean-to at the front.
