Description
The building is a lofted stable and shippon located at Sandy Lane Farm. It is constructed of brick and features blue-brick segmental-headed openings, topped with a slate roof. On the right side, there are large replacement double doors in an original opening, along with a split door and a window on the left. The loft includes three openings: the right-hand opening is fully open, the central opening retains some original glazing bars, and the left-hand opening has a boarded shutter beneath a wooden lintel. There is a lean-to structure against the left gable end, which has a split door. Slightly set back to the right is the lower shippon, which features a split boarded door flanked by steel-framed hopper windows under lintels. The gable end of the shippon has a boarded door for the feeding passage on the right. The rear of the building has two windows similar to those at the front, while the stable has a single window on the left side.
