Description

The Dymock Arms is a two-storey building constructed of brick and painted white, featuring a slate roof and a brick ridge stack aligned with the porch. The original structure is located on the left side, while a taller extension from 1920 is on the right. The original building has a two-storey porch positioned left of center, which includes a segmental-headed doorway with a boarded door inside. To the left of the porch is a small added lean-to and a three-light wood-framed casement window on each floor, with the lower window having a segmental head. On the right side of the porch, there are two similar two-light windows on each storey.

At the left end of the building is an extension from around 1870, which features the name 'Dymock Arms' in modern lettering. To the right, the two-storey addition from 1920 has a projecting bay and a half-timbered upper storey. This projection includes a boarded door on the lower floor and two cross windows above. Further to the right, there is a four-light window on the lower storey and a two-light window in a segmental half dormer. The right gable end features an oriel window.

The left gable end is asymmetrical and has a replacement upper-storey window in the 1870 extension. Behind the original building and the 1870 extension is a 20th-century outshut, while larger 20th-century extensions are located behind the 1920 section.

The building likely originally had a lobby entrance and a three-unit plan. Box-framing is visible in the rear wall and partly in the former right-hand gable end and the right end of the front. There are two timber-framed partitions, and three trusses are visible, two of which have been altered but still retain their tie and collar beams. The truss at the left-hand end, featuring queen posts, was likely part of the original gable end.
