Description
Bryn Aber is a 2-storey house with 2 windows, built from hand-moulded brick and topped with a slate roof featuring sawtooth eaves and brick end stacks. An added gabled porch has a hipped roof and contains the original boarded door. The windows on the lower storey have segmental heads, while those on the upper storey have flat arches. They are 19th-century 3-light iron-frame casements with Gothic glazing bars, and there are wooden casements on the side and rear.
To the left side of the house, there is a projecting parallel rear wing with dentil eaves. A 2-light steel-framed window faces the front of the house. The gable end of this wing features a 2-light window in the lower storey that was once a doorway, and a 3-light window in the upper storey. Behind the main house is an added lean-to that extends across another rear wing, which is positioned at right angles to the main range and also has dentil eaves. The rear gable end of this wing contains a 2-light segmental-headed window in the upper storey and an attic vent. The side wall has a 3-light window in the lower storey and a 2-light window above, both appearing to be inserted late 19th-century openings with brick segmental heads.
