Description
25 and 26 Salop Road in Overton are single-storey buildings constructed from sandstone ashlar with slate roofs, designed in the Tudor Gothic style. The symmetrical layout features a central gable and two flanking gables, separated by recessed bays. Originally intended as three two-unit dwellings, they include a central range and two cross wings. The central entrance, now disused but intact, has a narrow porch with a steep pedimented gable that mirrors the arch over the doorway, along with an inscription in the tympanum. Flanking the entrance are renewed casement windows, leading to the outer gables, each of which features a canted bay window with stone mullions and transomed arched lights, along with iron casements. The gables are adorned with fleurons and are flanked by pinnacles, topped with an embattled parapet that extends across the front and return elevations. The return elevations also have similar gabled central porches and renewed casement windows on either side.
