Plas-yn-Coed Farmhouse

Plas-yn-Coed Farmhouse is a two-storey building with a roughcast render over brick, raised on a sandstone plinth, and topped with a slate roof featuring stone kneelers at the coped gables. The farmhouse has a four-window range with a central entrance. A 20th-century porch leads to a heavily studded cross-boarded door, which is fitted with wrought iron strap hinges and set within a painted moulded stone architrave. The flanking windows are wood mullioned and transomed, consisting of three lights, and are late 19th century or early 20th century replacements. Similar windows are located above, and there is a lower two-bay range to the west, likely added during the 19th century. The original building and a later extension have end wall stacks.

Inside, there is a central entrance hall featuring a 17th-century staircase at the rear, which runs the full height of the house and originally provided access to both the cellar and the attics. The staircase has turned balusters, broad rectangular newels, a moulded rail, and a closed string. Remnants of corner fireplaces, including one with a chamfered bresummer, can be found in two principal rooms.
