Description
Rhyd-y-cyffin Farmhouse is a 2-storey, 2-window house featuring an integral rear wing. It is constructed of hand-moulded chequerwork Flemish-bond brick and has a slate roof with dentil eaves and partly rebuilt brick stacks. The central entrance consists of a boarded door located under a gabled canopy. The windows are 3-light casements, set beneath segmental brick heads on the lower storey and wooden lintels on the upper storey, all with moulded-brick sills.
On the right gable end, there is a segmental-headed 2-light window positioned lower right. The left gable end connects to the rear wing, which contains 2-light casement windows, with smaller ones on the upper storey. There is an added lean-to on the gable end of the wing, as well as another lean-to against its rear wall, which houses a pantry featuring a segmental-headed window with metal gauze, situated below a 2-light window. At the rear of the main range, there is a 2-light upper-storey window on the left side. The left gable end of the house has a lean-to made of weatherboards and a corrugated-iron roof covering a well, which includes a boarded door.
