Description
The gates, piers, and railings at the west gate of Brynkinallt Park are notable features from the 17th century. The railings, made of cast iron, have a square section and include an intermediate rail at the top of the dog rails, also of equal section. The rails are topped with arrow heads. The gate piers are constructed from local sandstone and consist of four clustered shafts that have a base, a mid-shaft ring, and a cap. These shafts taper and converge to a point. The central gate, which is likely of a later date, features curved top and bottom braces and a central panel displaying the date 1612 in sheet iron. The side pedestrian gates are designed similarly.
