Description
The gates, gate piers, and terminal piers at the Newbridge entrance to Tawstock Park date from the 18th and 19th centuries. The gate piers and terminal piers are made of ashlar and are square in section with moulded caps. The gate piers are topped with pine cones, while the terminal piers feature ball finials. The gates themselves are constructed of cast iron, adorned with fleur-de-lys finials on the uprights. The top rail includes trefoil decoration on the soffits, and each gate has two tiers of roundels, each containing four trefoils below the middle rail, with three roundels on each gate.
