Description
Groed Onen Windmill is a stone-built conical tower windmill, likely constructed in the late 18th century or around 1800. The windmill has undergone restoration over the past ten years. It features a plinth and has been recently whitewashed in Autumn 1990. The original weatherboarded boat-shaped cap has been replaced with a timber balcony, except on the side with the sails. The windmill stands four stories tall and has camber-arched headed openings, with modern small-pane, top-hung windows arranged in regular tiers. There are two modern doors on the north side; the upper door leads to a first-floor balcony supported by raking timber struts that spring from the plinth, with iron cleats.
