Description
The Valley Lodge is a two-storey building with single-storey wings, constructed from red brick. It features a hipped slate main roof and a broad brick chimney stack. The front of the building is symmetrical, with a plinth and sill band, and includes 12-pane sash windows that are taller on the ground floor. The central entrance is tall and arched, adorned with voussoirs and a fine traceried fanlight, flanked by sidelights and a six-panel door. The wings, which may have originally served as coach-houses, are slightly stepped forward from the main structure. The gables at the front have a simple pediment treatment with ornamental diamond motifs and tall arched recesses. The left wing has a tiled roof and a three-window side elevation that includes sashes and a central entrance. The right wing features a slate roof with modern windows and an attached monopitch range. The rear of the building is similar in style.
Inside, the altered interior retains a simple Georgian curved staircase.
