Description
The Primary Barn at Segrwyd is a long barn built from limestone rubble, featuring a medium-pitched slate roof with a tiled ridge. The gable parapets are made of rubble and there is a small 20th-century skylight on the southwest side, along with a decorative iron weathervane on the northwest gable. On the southwest side, which faces the farmyard, there are two large modern openings; the left one has a boarded door and the right one has a steel sliding door, both mounted externally. Between these openings are paired early 19th-century arched openings with brick voussoirs, and above them is a square loading bay under the eaves, all of which are boarded. The southeast end of the long northeast side, which faces the house, has three primary square loft lights with original pegged frames.
Attached at a right angle to the southwest side of the barn is a 19th-century agricultural range, which is now partly used for domestic purposes. The barn features a seven-bay roof supported by pegged queen post trusses and includes at least one rubble dividing wall.
