Description

Segrwyd is a medium-sized country house built in the late 19th century, featuring two storeys and a roughly square layout. The exterior is roughcast, likely over a brick core, topped with a slate roof and tiled ridge. It has tall brick chimneys from the late 19th century, which have simple cornicing and ceramic pots.

The main northwest facade is asymmetrical, consisting of six bays. It includes a central single-storey porch from the 19th century and wide outer gables that occupy two bays each and are flush with the elevation. The gables have coved verges that extend to deep eaves, finished with plain, narrow bargeboards. The porch features a wide, shallow roof with a moulded wooden pediment that has a delicate lozenge-pattern glazed panel. The entrance has double doors with a four-pane, plain-glazed upper section and tall flanking three-pane lights, along with a half-glazed inner door.

To the left of the porch is an unhorned 16-pane early 19th-century sash window, with two later 19th-century two-pane windows in the gable beyond, featuring arched lights and coloured marginal glazing. To the right of the porch is a large early 20th-century nine-pane wooden window with mullions and transoms that extends down to ground level. At the far right is another sash window, similar to the previous ones, with five additional sash windows on the upper floor; three of these have cambered heads. The second bay from the right has a 12-pane unhorned window, while the penultimate window to the right is a narrow eight-pane sash. There is also an off-centre four-light early 20th-century attic dormer with a flat roof and plain casements.

The southeast elevation features four French windows on the ground floor, which are enclosed within a long glazed early 20th-century verandah; the left-hand window has been enlarged. The first floor has small-pane sash windows and projecting eaves supported by moulded brackets. The northeast elevation has similar sash windows and an off-centre entrance. Attached to the southwest is a single-storey early 20th-century service wing with a hipped slate roof and tiled ridge, which includes a tripartite multi-pane window at the front and an 8-pane vertical sash window beyond.

The interior was not inspected during the survey.
