Rhydorddwy Fawr Farmhouse

Rhydorddwy Fawr Farmhouse is a two-storey building with a basement at the rear, constructed in Flemish bond brickwork on a tooled stone plinth. It features a hipped slate roof with a pronounced overhang and has two end-wall stacks with octagonal shafts above dentilled bases. The front has a three-window range with a central entrance set in a slightly recessed bay. The doorway is raised up semi-circular stone steps and includes a six-panelled door with sidelights and lozenge glazing in the overlight, which has some coloured glass. Above the doorway is a plain stone lintel.

The flanking windows are canted bays with wide 12-pane hornless sashes and moulded stone cornices. The upper windows are also 12-pane hornless sashes, featuring flat arched stone heads and a continuous sill band. There is a round-arched stair window on the west return elevation. The rear elevation has three 12-pane sash windows on each floor, along with a basement storey that includes wide 24 and 20-pane sash windows. The basement is enclosed in an area with stone walls topped by ornate cast-iron spearhead railings. On either side of the entrance front, there are single-storey flat-roofed pavilion wings, and beyond them are stone-faced garden walls.
