Description
This building is a single-storey lodge located on the northwest side of the main drive to Vivod. It is constructed of snecked rubble with a slate roof and features a rubble chimney stack that has been heightened in brick. The lodge has an advanced gable on the right side, with an entrance positioned in the angle to its left, accessed by stone steps. The windows, mostly cross frame, have freestone surrounds and a cill band. At the rear, there is a modern extension, along with a garage built around 1900, which was designed to house the first car in the area. This garage includes an ingenious device that compensates for its awkward position; the car could be reversed out onto a timber platform turntable and then rotated to allow it to be driven away forwards.
