Description
The Dairy and Food Store, located on the southwest side of the Home Farmyard, is a 2-storey building constructed from rubble with a slate roof. It features a gable parapet at the northwest end that adjoins the kneeler of a similar parapet on the gable end of the cartshed and granary. High up in the center, there is a loft door with a raised cill, along with a part-blocked sash window below and a doorway situated in the angle. The rear of the building has a swept roof. To the left, there is an attached lower cartshed range.
Inside, the food store is notable for its tall circular timber pillars. The dairy area includes a marble slab set on a rounded brick base, and there is a food processing machine by Bamford of Uttoxeter.
