Description
Torwood Lodge is a single-storey, three-bay lodge built in the later 19th century. It features squared and snecked rubble with polished granite stop-chamfered margins. The building has bull-faced granite long and short quoins with margin draft, square windows, and overhanging eaves. The north and south elevations have jerkin-headed roofs.
On the east elevation, there is a decorative gabled open timber porch with a finial leading to a central door, flanked by windows in the outer bays. The south elevation has a window at the center. The west elevation features a gabled bay that is advanced at the center, with a door on the north return and a window to the west.
The north elevation has a slightly lower, similarly detailed modern extension attached. The lodge has modern lead-pane effect glazing, a coped ridge stack at the center, and is covered with small grey slates. Decorative iron finials are present on the north and south sides, along with an octagonal chimney can.
