Description
The former goods shed is an engine shed constructed from irregularly coursed local limestone, featuring brick corner pilasters. The roof slopes are currently covered in bituminous felt, which also covers the rooflights on the south slope. The upper part of the wall masonry, along with the half-metre of masonry at each gable, is corbelled forward. There is an engine doorway on the east side at railtrack level, which has brick jambs and a concrete lintel. In the centre of the south elevation, there is a tall doorway from the yard, also with brick jambs, above which the south roof extends down as a canopy supported by timber struts. The north elevation, facing the track, includes brick piers with a small doorway situated between them. Inside, the shed features a timber king-post roof with diagonal bracing.
