Goods Shed to SE of Mostyn Station

The goods shed located to the southeast of Mostyn Station is a tall, single-storey structure built from dark red brick and topped with a slate roof featuring freestone dressings. The east and west gable ends are adorned with parapets and brick pediment treatments, and there is a stack at the apex of the west gable. Each side of the shed has three-bay blind arcades, which include stepped freestone capitals and round-arched heads made of red and blue brick. A freestone string course and coping run along the parapets, which are complemented by plain brick end pilasters. The parapets extend around the gable ends, where the pediments feature blind panels.

On the east end, there is a similar three-bay arcade, with the central arch being blind and flanked by former train openings that have been infilled with blockwork. The west end has opposing train openings, now filled with double boarded doors and plastered tympana above. Between these doors is a low single-storey bay with a pedimented gable and a blocked oculus.

At the time of inspection in March 2001, there was no access to the interior. However, it was noted that in the 1980s, three out of four original timber trusses with massive tie-beams were still in place beneath a top-lit roof.
