Description
The Good Shed at Llangollen Railway Station Goods Yard is a building constructed of dark red brick with classical detailing and a slate roof featuring boarded eaves. It is 21 meters long and consists of six bays, capable of accommodating 13 wagons, with a parallel track to the south. Wagons enter through the west end, which has a pediment treatment on the gable and stepped capitals on the pilasters. There is a high segmental arched entry on the right with sliding boarded doors, and the track runs through the shed on the south side.
On the north side, there are two similar tall segmental arched doorways located in the second and fifth bays, with matching pilasters. The east gable end features a simple pediment treatment like the west gable, along with a tall wagon doorway and a chimney stack rising from the gable. A two-storey square projection is located at the center, adorned with corner pilasters, a cornice, and a hipped roof with boarded eaves. The front has nine-pane sash windows with freestone lintels, and there is a later flat roof extension on the north side. A corrugated shed is situated on the south side.
Inside, the walls are whitewashed, with pilasters below each truss, and railway tracks run along both sides. There is a staircase leading to the upper floor of the office projection at the east end. The structure features queen post trusses and includes two one-ton cranes.
