Description
Fair View, dating from the early 19th century, is a two-storey building featuring a three-window front made of pebbledash with a cement render cill band, end pilaster strips, and a plinth. The slate roof is complemented by stock brick chimney stacks at either end. The first floor has 16-pane sash windows, each with lintels and cills. Below, there are later splayed bays with casement windows flanking a central half-glazed door that has a bracket hood and a traceried overlight.
To the right, there is a lower painted rubble outbuilding range that is set back, featuring a lean-to at the right end. This outbuilding is dog-legged to the rear and includes broad boarded garage doors. The rear of the building has a three-window pebbledash facade overlooking a gated yard, primarily featuring 16-pane sash windows and a cambered arched doorway.
Fair View Cottage is not included in this listing. A rubble boundary wall runs along the roadside from the end of the outbuilding to the full length of the garden and includes a boarded door and a 'VR' wallbox at the extreme left end.
